Sowing seeds of hope into Pittsburgh's young people.

Everything starts from a single seed. We develop youth and young adults through mentoring, education, cultural immersion, service, and wellness — so the harvest is plentiful and meaningful, for their lives and for our community.

Our Goal

20,000Touchpoints with young people by 2040

Through Seeds of Hope programs and direct partnerships across Greater Pittsburgh — reaching young people where they are, and walking with them toward who they can become.

About Seeds of Hope

It all begins with a single seed.

An educational nonprofit rooted in Pittsburgh and the surrounding region, developing youth and young adults to learn, build, and serve.

Our Story & Vision

The Seeds of Hope vision began in 2023 — from the realization that everything starts from a single seed. But for that seed to produce a good, healthy fruit of its kind, it must be nurtured and cared for daily.

Our youth today are our Seeds of Hope for the future, and sowing into their lives must be deliberate and intentional — so the harvest is not only plentiful, but meaningful for their lives and for society.

"We must sow into what we hope it can and will become."

Our Mission

Growing young people to strive and thrive.

Seeds of Hope develops youth and young adults (ages 14–24) into positive, productive members of society — sowing intentionally into young lives through mentoring, education, cultural immersion, service, and wellness, so the harvest is plentiful and meaningful.

Our Leadership

Led by a founder who has lived it

Cynthia Jennings Davis — a U.S. military veteran and community elder — founded Seeds of Hope and leads its youth, community, and veteran work.

Who We Are

Rooted, led, and distinct.

  • Structure — A Pennsylvania educational nonprofit, Seeds of Hope (Pgh), Inc., rooted in Pittsburgh and the surrounding region.
  • Leadership — Founded and led by Cynthia Jennings Davis, a U.S. military veteran who serves as Elder and Activities Director for New Day Youth.
  • Ministry partnership — Much of our youth programming is delivered in close partnership with New Day Ministries' youth ministry.
  • What makes us distinct — Veteran engagement, deep community roots, and youth placed at the center of intentional, whole-person programming.
